Netflix has been knocking out of the park lately with their animated shows and movies for younger kids. So many to chose from with amazing voice talent, it is hard to chose what to watch next. But Netflix has you covered with their newest animated feature, Next Gen. The animated movie features the voice talents of John Krasinski (A Quiet Place and “The Office”), Charlene Yi (The Disaster Artist), Constance Wu (Crazy Rich Asians), David Cross (The Post and “Arrested Development”), Michael Peña (Ant-Man and the Wasp) and Jason Sudeikis (Downsizing). Next Gen follows the friendship between a top secret robot and a lonely young girl. The pair will take on bullies, evil bots, and a scheming madman. Next Gen, a Netflix Film, launches September 7. The story is based on the original comic 7723, by Wang Nima.
Nima and Ryan W. Smith also co-wrote the film. The movie was written and directed by Kevin R. Adams and Joe Ksander. Adams has extensive experience in animation having worked on such features as Kronk’s New Groove, Tarzan 2, Home on the Range, Hercules and The Emperor’s New Groove under various roles. Ksander served as an animator on Transformers: Age of Extinction, Cowboys & Aliens, X-Men: First Class,and Yogi Bear.
