Nickelodeon is working on a new show which may or may not be called Man Of The House and it looks like it will be an interesting show.
Claudia Spinelli to Oversee Project as Newly Appointed Vice President of Animation Development at Nickelodeon
José is an 11-year-old boy that is trying to juggle some things in his life as he helps raise his siblings. His love seems to be hip-hop and is looking to hit it big with his group that he formed with friend Wilbur that lives downstairs.
Nickelodeon today announced the development of a new animated project, Man of the House (working title), from Norman Lear’s ACT III Productions. With creative concept by Colombian-American writer and illustrator Michael Molina (Trivia Night), Man of the House follows 11-year-old José as he helps his mother Maria watch over his two younger siblings, Maria Juliana (Maju) and Diego, while trying to form a hip-hop group with his quirky classmate and neighbor, Wilbur, that lives downstairs. Lear (All in the Family, The Jeffersons) and Brent Miller (One Day at a Time) will serve as executive producers.
With hip-hop being so prevalent in kids lives these days, this story will resonate with kids as the hip-hop group of José and Wilbur tries to get its career off the ground, while at the same time José has to help take care of Maria Juliana (Maju) and Diego his younger siblings. A very appropriate working title of Man Of The House will allow kids that have the same sort of family dynamic to relate to what the family has to go through. Stay tuned as we will continue to give you as much information about the show as it comes out, hopefully we will get to see some pictures or a video soon of what to expect.
