If there is one series that we are currently reading that gets everyone in the house excited it is Phoebe and her Unicorn Adventures and we were all amped up for Unicorn of Many Hats by Dana Simpson to arrive. The first day is rather rough, the book changes hands a lot, you might not be able to find it when you want to read it, so this time, we decided to only allow Luciana and her mother to read it the first and second day. The third day and onward was fair game for the rest of us, and the book passed through the hands of everyone in the house by the end of the week.
While the kids love the series, there is enough here for the adults as well. Some of our favorite stories in Unicorn of Many Hats, a Phoebe and her Unicorn book, include Marigold playing video games with Phoebe’s father, Dakota and Queen Prunella von Blaart, as well as all of the Christmas time fun. There are fun jokes for everyone and the whole family loves to see what Todd is up to.
Marigold Heavenly Nostrils is no ordinary unicorn. She has Wi-Fi-enabled appendages. She’s the most enchanted babysitter of all time. She’s published numerous scholarly articles on the “shimmering” versus “glimmering” debate. She is, in short, a unicorn of many hats.
Phoebe and her exceptional hooved pal are back in this all-new collection of comics! Laugh alongside the lovable duo as they question the idea of “coolness,” gain a deeper appreciation for the power of friendship, and put off summer reading assignments for as long as physically possible.
Luciana V talks about the book with the new Five Questions format below (with the added benefit of a sixth question!):
Who is your favorite character, Phoebe or Marigold?
Marigold, because she can be funny sometimes without knowing it.
What is your favorite part of the book?
During Christmas time when Marigold has all sorts of decorations on herself, this is where she is funny and does not know it.
If you had to describe this book in one word, what word would you choose?
Funny
If you could meet Marigold what would you say to her?
Do you stay with Phoebe all the time?
Would you love a Phoebe and her Unicorn Adventures cartoon?
Yes, because I really like the book.
Why do you like the book?
