Fillmore! was a great animated show that aired from 2002 – 2004 on ABC and we are always nostalgic for some of our favorite shows from the past. Disney XD just recently aired a mini marathon of the show on that was supposed to be on April 1 from 11a-3pm and April 19 from 5p-8p, but it seems only the April 19th showing made the cut. Just a small subset of the episodes aired as the show had 26 episodes in its two season run. Disney has been doing this with past show and it really does help introduce kids to some shows from the past that they might enjoy.
Fillmore! was a fun kids take on cop shows of the time, with Fillmore! being part of the Safety Patrol after spending his earlier years as a juvenile delinquent. Fillmore’s partner Ingrid Third becomes his best friend and they solve crimes while on the Safety Patrol. Horatio Vallejo is the junior commissioner of the Safety Patrol and Fillmore’s immediate supervisor on the show. The show and its parodied crimes were always interesting and felt a bit more grown up than some of the other shows at the time. Let us all hope that when this new Disney streaming service comes to light that all of the old cartoons in full episode and series format will be watchable. If not it seems like Disney will sprinkle these marathons (or blocks of episodes) in with its regular programming so be prepared to make sure you know what is coming up on the schedule.
You can see the intro to the show below and let us hope we get all 26 episodes on television again at some point. We wouldn’t even mind a reboot or a continuation of the regular series, but maybe with some new voice talent.
