
Thomas & Friends is coming to Nickelodeon on the Nick Jr. channel and will also air some specials during the year. Mattel will also allow Nickelodeon to become the exclusive U.S. consumer product agent for Thomas & Friends. This partnership with Nickelodeon is huge as it will get Thomas & Friends back in front of a large audience of Nick Jr. watchers as they start to evolve the Thomas storyline.
While we are fans of the old school Thomas we see the need to capture the current audience and Nickelodeon will be showing some new content as Thomas is going to have an adventure off of Sodor! Hopefully (and we have faith that it will be) they make this adventure something that fits into the franchise itself. As Thomas & Friends evolve we look forward to what sort of new adventures come with this. Based on what they have in mind Thomas will experience new countries and learn about other cultures, which is great for children to learn as well. Thomas will also be speaking directly to the audience, breaking the fourth wall, which is something that has not been done in the series.
The new season of Thomas & Friends will start on Nick Jr. in March and include 11 half-hour episodes in season 21. Thomas & Friends: Big World! Big Adventures will be season 22 and will have 13 half-hour episodes. Nick will also be showing movie specials of Thomas during the year including Thomas & Friends: Big World! Big Adventures! The Movie, which features content that will appear in season 22 of the franchise in the Fall.
Our two boys grew up on Thomas and we look forward to watching the franchise continue to grow with Nickelodeon to delight another generation of children. Stay tuned for more Thomas toys coming in the future from Mattel as this series once again takes off.

Big Adventures! The Movie (1 x 80′). The movie includes newly revamped content that will appear in season 22 of the franchise, premiering this fall.
Thomas & Friends: Big World! Big Adventures! (season 22, 13 half-hour episodes) had its first screening at the recent 2017 MIP Junior World Premiere TV Screening to much critical acclaim. Season 22, follows the world’s No.1 blue engine as he takes kids on a journey of wonder and curiosity around the world to discover & experience new countries, learn about other cultures and of course, make new friends along the way! In addition to Thomas’ expanded adventures, several aspects of the show were evolved to appeal to contemporary viewers, including: an all-new format series, faster-paced plots, increase in humor, and more action and adventure-based storylines with several new fantasy and musical elements. For the first time ever, Thomas will also be breaking the forth wall and speaking directly to the viewer.
