Madison Greenspan Of Maddie Rae’s Slime Glue – Exclusive Interview

Madison Greenspan is an inspiration to kids everywhere and when BSCKids had the opportunity to speak with her we just could not pass up the chance. After her encounter with the glue shortage last year, Madison started her own company, Maddie Rae’s Slime Glue, that sells her own brand of glue for making slime. Madison has become quite busy with her own company but seems very grounded and still makes school a priority.

Still riding high after launching her own successful slime glue company Maddie Rae’s Slime Glue, and recently breaking the GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for the largest slime, tween Madison Greenspan is excited to announce her company is expanding its product line to include DIY/crafting products for 2018.

BSCKids: How did you come to start your own company of Maddie Rae’s Slime Glue and what were some of the hurdles you faced?

Madison Greenspan: I really loved making slime for a long time before I launched my business last March. Due to the glue shortage last winter, everywhere I went to buy glue was sold out, even online. So, I asked my dad if we could make our own brand of glue for slime making and with my team, we actually did it!

In the beginning, I was very shy and I was afraid I wasn’t being taken seriously because of my age. After a year of working with everyone and having success, I became comfortable enough to really become involved in the decision-making process of my business.

BSCKids: How did it feel when it became official that you broke the GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for the largest slime?

Madison Greenspan: I couldn’t believe we broke the record! I wasn’t sure if we would be able to really do it but after tons of hard work, my dream of being a Guinness World Record holder came true!

BSCKids: Can you tell us a little bit about the new items you are going to release in 2018 and how you came up with those ideas?

Madison Greenspan: Some of my crafting items that will be released in 2018 are slime charms, multi-colored pigment powder, puffy fabric paint, colored and glittered glues, patterned duct tape, iron on glitter and a whole bunch more!

A lot of these products are awesome for making slime, but I thought it would be a good idea to expand to DIY products because I love crafting too. The charms and pigment powder are my favorite. They are both part of the slime trend and I thought the charms were just so cute.

BSCKids: Besides your own product line, what would you say are some of your favorite DIY/Crafting products on the market?

Madison Greenspan: Wow, there are just so many to choose from I don’t know where to start! I have to say, aside from my product line, I really love stenciling, candle making, papier mache, tie dying and jewelry making.

BSCKids: What would you say has been your biggest asset in helping you successfully build your company?

Madison Greenspan: I think my positive attitude has really helped me run my business. There were bumps in the road along the way, but I knew I had to stay strong and keep moving forward. I’m really surprised about how popular my products have become, it’s been so exciting for me.

BSCKids: How do you find the time to run your company as well as get your school work done?

Madison Greenspan: I have to put school first no matter what. I’m thankful for my team that helps me with manufacturing and product development. I attend weekly meetings in my dad’s office to go over new product development, social media and whatever else that may come up to make sure we are all on the same page.

BSCKids: What hobbies do you have outside of crafting?

Madison Greenspan: I love to play basketball with my friends and I am in scrabble club that meets after school. I also love playing with animals, especially bunnies!

BSCKids: What is one thing you never leave the house without?

Madison Greenspan: I never leave the house without my phone. I always have it on me to make sure I can stay in touch with my followers on Instagram and other fellow slimers.

BSCKids: What is something that people don’t know about you?

Madison Greenspan: I love ice cream, there’s not one flavor that I don’t like.
