X-Files characters Fox Mulder and Dana Scully have a lot of fans and they are one of the greatest television duos. With the miniseries revival in 2016, The X-Files captured a whole new audience but now they are looking even younger (8 and up) with this illustrated children bedtime story introducing the characters to the kids. There is so much to love about this book.
Before getting into the actual work of the book, after flipping through the pages the first thing that came to my mind was the quality of the paper and the thickness. This is a well put together book and screams out high quality, it should be something you could put on your coffee table and it will hold up under constant reading from the younger audience. Kim Smith really knocks it out of the park with the illustration in the book, it really is perfect, I don’t believe I need to elaborate, it just works. The story has Dana and Fox in the backyard for a sleepover and has them debating about the sounds of the night, with a surprise ending.
One the most beloved TV shows of all time is now a sweet, silly, sci-fi bedtime story! In The X Files: Earth Children Are Weird, best pals Dana (Scully) and Fox (Mulder) have pitched a tent in the backyard for a sleepover. But the night is full of strange sounds, lights, and shadows. Surely there’s a rational, scientific explanation for everything . . . or is there? With beautiful illustrations of pint-sized Dana and Fox, this humorous and not-scary-at-all story will introduce the cult TV show to an entire new generation of fans.
Enjoy The X-Files: Earth Children Are Weird the end of August and look forward to E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial to be published on October 31st, 2017. Quirk has a growing collection of pop culture picture books that allow you to introduce children to some of the great classic movies. All ages will enjoy these books as collectibles but honestly they are a great way to introduce children to some classic movies so make sure they get read.
