Things Get “Fresh” With My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

Things Get “Fresh” With My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

2017 is a grander, hooves down, a year for everything Friendship is Magic. Later in the fall season of this year we are about to see our beloved mane six set course for what promises to be their grandest adventure yet as My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is returning for season 7 AND dashing across the big screen.

There is no questioning not only how major the upcoming film will be in addition the series’ massive success, but also what a great year it’s to be a fan of Twilight Sparkle and company. As strange as it is to think about fall already – more so as the fine days of springs have at long last arrived. We don’t have to look into the coming months for fantastic pony content. Because the seventh season of “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” comes to us this Saturday, April 15th at 11:30 am E.T only on Discovery Family.

And to get everyone ready Hasbro has turned out an epic video that pays homage to a little series you may or may not know. Does “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”> ring any bells?

Check it out, and sing along.

Now this is a story and it’s not even tragic

about how we all learned that friendship is magic.

And I wanna make sure that there’s nothing I skip

When I’ll tell you how I came to know the Princess of Friendship…

In western Equestria, born and raised,

on the rock farm is where I spent most of my days.

But Ponyville’s where Twilight Sparkle met me

Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Rarity,

She wrote one little letter sent to Celestia,

who said, [imitating Celestia] “It’s the friends you have made that have saved Equestria.”

She’s even traveled through time so try not to get weirded

when I tell you that she met Starswirl the Bearded!

She’s got wings and a castle, so don’t even trip

She’s Twilight Sparkle, the Princess of Friendship!

I always feel like there is so much to adore with Hasbro and “My Little Pony”. And things like this spoof are not only genius but nearly impossible not to smile and laugh at. This will really get people pumped for Saturday’s season premier. (How did we already get all the way to season seven?! Feels like we were waiting on season four and then blinked.) Unlike other seasons of the series, season seven is not opening with a two-part episode. Rather two more stand-alone episodes, “Celestial Advise” and “All Bottled Up”.  “Celestial Advise”; “In the seventh-season opener, Starlight Glimmer’s future causes agony for Twilight Sparkle, who then gets some helpful advice from her own mentor, Princess Celestia.” “All Bottled Up”: “Starlight Glimmer and Trixie lose Twilight’s friendship map and fear Twilight’s reaction to this news, so Starlight does a spell to contain Twilight’s anger while they search for it.” Be sure to turn in this Saturday to see the next chapter of friendship powered magic come alive. And be sure to share your thoughts on the new season in the comments here and on social media.
