BSCKids had a great opportunity to speak with Jace Norman from Henry Danger about the new upcoming animated series, The Adventures of Kid Danger and Captain Man. Jace stopped to take a brief time off (as they were a bit behind schedule) while shooting to speak with us on the phone.
The Adventures of Kid Danger and Captain Man has a short-form digital series that is doing very well and this is an extension of that. The animated series will center on Kid Danger and all the cool adventures that he has with Captain Man. The original Henry Danger cast will be handling the voice talent with Jace Norman has “Henry Hart/Kid Danger.”
BSCKids: Tell us a bit about your character on the show?
Jace Norman: He is an average kid, nothing too special about him until he gets discovered by the town’s superhero and then everything kind of changes. The character (Henry Danger) really develops as the show goes on.
BSCKids: What do you find harder, the voice acting of the animated show or the acting in the live action version?
Jace Norman: I think the voice acting is harder because I am used to being able to use my whole body to get something across with facial expressions. You can’t do that obviously with voice over. You just have to trust that the animators know what they are doing.
BSCKids: What would you say your favorite villain has been on the live action show?
Jace Norman: We had this villain called Dr. Minyak and he a really theatrical type character. His character is very big and broad, a very fun out there character.
BSCKids: What was your favorite Henry Danger Motion Comic that has been done and aired so far?
Jace Norman: That is a tough question, the first one was my favorite to shoot because everyone was nervous and didn’t really know what it was going to look like. It was really fun because we were all in the room together saying the lines, its not like we do it separately, so we are actually interacting. It was a different and new experience.
BSCKids: Do you have any funny behind the scenes stories for recording either one of the shows?
Jace Norman: In the new one (animated series), we are in the studio all day, so we get kinda bored after a while. Me and Cooper start passing notes with paper airplanes, throwing paper airplanes across the room.
BSCKids: What would you say is your favorite Nickelodeon show of all time (besides your own shows)?
Jace Norman: Drake and Josh. That was my show growing up that me and my brother watched.
BSCKids: What would you say is your favorite animated show of all time (besides your own show)?
Jace Norman: I really like SpongeBob and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, me and my brother would watch them all the time.
BSCKids: In the animated series we are going to see a lot of new things that maybe they couldn’t do in the live action show. Can you talk on that without giving too much away?
Jace Norman: The whole show is crazier in general. Vehicles that we talk about that we normally wouldn’t be able to see, characters we couldn’t do in live action we do in animated. But mainly vehicles that were just too high budget we are able to do.
BSCKids: Do you have any exciting fan moments?
Jace Norman: I remember I met a Mom and most Moms while talking will say, my kid really likes you, but this one did not. She did not have a kid, she just loved the show.
BSCKids: I am the same way, I watch all the shows with my kids. So the last question, why should everyone tune in to watch the animated show?
Jace Norman: If you like Henry Danger or even if you don’t, we do everything we can’t do on the live action show. We don’t have any boundaries. As crazy as Henry Danger is, the animated it that much more.
BSCKids: Special thanks to Jace for taking the time out of his busy schedule to talk with us and stay tuned for more news on the animated show, The Adventures of Kid Danger and Captain Man.
