The Making Of – “Welcome To Monster High” gives us a look at what went on to make this reimagining of the origins of Monster High where Draculaura narrates. They use a magical amulet and the secret Monster Internet to help start Monster High. The really hard lifting of the movie is done by the team that put the story into CG form and this is where our story/video begins. Flaunt Productions really put their heart into this work and it shows. From the inside of their work environment to how they want to get the details perfect, it all comes together. This movie is something that Monster High fans were clamoring for and they put a nail in the coffin.

The video starts off by giving us a look at Flaunt Productions work place in Glasgow, where they have Monster High Dolls all around the office. Stephen Donnelly the director explains to us how important it was to him that adults and kids could watch the movie together. They also wanted to make sure they refreshed the look of the license to keep it appealing to the audience. It was great to see the storyboard designs and how they made their way into the final product. There are so many steps between the idea and then the finished movie and we see a glimpse of what they were.

Watch the video as we get to hear from a lot more of the team and see a lot of cool things as we make our way behind the scenes of “Welcome To Monster High.” The part about the fashion of Monster High and how they went about designing items was pretty cool as well. They talk a bit about the CG and how each character was unique and required their own look and feel, even with movement. We even get to watch some of the voice talent and how it matches up with the CG. This is really a great look at what goes on to make sure all the Monster High fans are happy!

You can find the video over on Vimeo at Monster High: Making Of from Flaunt Productions and catch some more stills of the movie below.

Have three kids, two boys (18 and 16) and a girl (12). I had a grandfather that watched cartoons and read the Sunday funnies until he passed. I feel the same way and continue to watch the Disney channel in my 40s. Check out our BSCKids youtube channel Current favorite show is Amphibia.
