Beauty and the Beast 2017

The Beauty and the Beast – US Official Final Trailer is here and it is beautiful, stunning, and all those other descriptive terms that embody the classic and iconic tale. Emma Watson is truly Belle and after seeing this trailer I could not image anyone else with the role. I grew up on the animated Beauty and the Beast the animated 1992 version and as I grew a bit older it is going to be great to recapture that magic in live action form.

The casting looks great, as we mentioned Belle is perfectly cast and having Ian McKellen as Cogsworth is another win for me. I am hoping that Luke Evans can really pull that Gaston personally out and overall there is really not anything I would change casting wise by the trailer work we have seen. Seeing Gaston dance makes me feel pretty confident we are going to get a great performance.

Part of the charm of the animated version of the film sits with the dinnerware talent, which I mean the Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, Plumette, and the rest of that group. They had to have the same whimsical feel from the animated version but in live action and I think that is captured here as well.

The scenes both dark and light ones we see are well done and really bring out the feeling of something that is fantasy, yet real and that is what needs to happen when you bring an animated film to live action. Some of those scenes with Belle riding in the snow are pieces of art. We are also getting some “Beauty and the Beast” music by Ariana Grande and John Legend which fits like a glove on Beast’s hand to the movie.

Take a look at The Beauty and the Beast – US Official Final Trailer, starring Emma Watson as Belle, below and let us know how you think the movie is going to turn out. I, for one, am extremely satisfied with the look and direction the trailers show us and will be first in line to watch it when it comes into theaters on March 17th.
