Fans of Disney series know well that good things might not be able to last forever. Neither live-action or animation. A Disney Channel, Disney XD or Disney Junior series. It is an unwritten rule in a sense that series never go past a four season. Or in some cases, sixty-five episodes.
There have been, of course, exceptions to this rule. And even series that have returned after ending to continue on. A great example of this is “Kim Possible”. Following the end of the third season, a television movie “So the Drama” tended to lose ends and closed the chapter. But thanks to fans, the series was able to return for another fourth and final season.
Only very few series have been able to reach past the same point.
So needless to say whenever a series starts reaching the end of their third season. Fans to speculate what the end might look like. And when the fourth season does arrive, bittersweet emotions fester.
Those are feelings have been shared by fans of one of the biggest and most beloved Disney Junior series “Doc McStuffins” have felt. Despite the series having done extremely well from the start, the four season format does remain.
“Doc McStuffins” follows a young six-year-old girl who aspires to become a doctor like her mother. Despite her age, Doc takes the role of doctor amongst herself and tends to toys that have fallen ill or injured. With her magic stethoscope she is able to trigger supernatural effects and oh yeah- her toys come to life.
As the series has progressed, as have Doc’s world. What started out with her tending to hers and others toys have shifted. From taking care of animal toys and even to tending to patents in a hospital setting.
With the fourth season of the popular series aimed at pre-schoolers heading towards the end of the season. A lot of fans worried that they might only have a small few encounters left with the characters they have come to love over the years. Wanting more, fans and parents have taken to social media asking Disney to continue on the run.
And rightfully so. Doc is a great role model for both young girls and boys. The series is very sweet and heartfelt. The type of thing we really do need more of any way you look at things.
Even though Doc is a doctor, the way medicine is handled is great and taken to a very universal level. There are always kids who aspire to become something, but do not believe they can for any given reason. But Doc, being six, shines light on the fact that anything can be done at any age. Plus she is great at her job.
And much to the delight of fans, as of November 16th it was announced that “Doc McStuffins” will be receiving a fifth season. With the news only being recently announced and no major details to be had. It is hard to say what stage of production it is in, or when the new season will hit airwaves.
But we here at BSCKids will keep update with the new, fifth season of “Doc McStuffins”.
