We here at BSCKids are poised to be your best resource for the upcoming holiday season. And no matter what your celebration gifts are a part of the season.
Regardless of age and any other fact, toys are one of the most popular items coated in shimmering and festive wrapping paper. It is understandable why; everyone loves toys and the joy the bring. But not every single gifts for anyone do not necessarily has to be toys of sorts.
Though less common, books also make grand gifts.
This year we have covered a large array of books, comics and even graphic novels. Only proving the fact that there really is a type of book for every reader.
So here is a selection of five different books, filled with faces new and old that are sure to delight any reader in your life. From ebook to physical. Amazon’s Kindle, Apple’s iBook or even Barnes and Nobel’s nook. You can be sure to find these tales anywhere you can find books!
Here we go!
Disney Gravity Falls Cinestory Comic, Volume 1:
For their summer vacation, Californian 12-year-old twins Dipper and Mabel Pines are dropped off in the town of Gravity Falls, Oregon, to live with their Great Uncle Stan (often shortened to Grunkle Stan). Things are not what they seem in this small town, and with the help of a mysterious journal that Dipper finds in the forest, they realize that their everyday lifestyle has changed. Three episodes of adventure in comic style screen captures will keep you hooked, including the episode that started it all!
I have never seen such a strong response from a fandom. That is until the announcement of Disney’s hit series “Gravity Falls”. Even though the tales of Dipper and Mabel live on fondly inside the hearts of fans. Thanks to the great people over at Joe Books, fans can relive the start of the series with this new cinestory.
Disney Princess Comic Collection:
Get ready for adventure! Disney’s beloved Princesses have returned in this hilarious collection of issues 1-4 of the Disney Princess comic series from Joe Books. Featuring laugh-out-loud stories from the worlds of Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, Tiana, Pocahontas, Rapunzel, and more, this charming collection will make all your dreams come true.
Going into this my intent was to feature as many new works as possible. Even though I had written about the actual singular comic release for this series back in spring… well. I had just gotten my copy of the collection and was unable to put it down. Brilliant writing, gorgeous art…it is nothing short of spectacular. And if I do not restrict myself I will not be able to shut up.
Steven Universe Guide to the Crystal Gems:
The Crystal Gems—Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl—are three of the toughest heroes on earth. They are also mentors to Steven Universe, a gem/human hybrid boy whose mother was a great Gem leader. This guide, told from Steven’s point-of-view and written by the show’s very own creator, Rebecca Sugar, is packed with facts about the Crystal Gems’ powers, abilities, and origins, It also includes original art and a special introduction from Rebecca Sugar. This book is a must-have for any Steven Universe fan!
Yes, we finally talk about Steven Universe. There really is nothing quite like getting perceptive from the people behind a work. Or in this case the series’ creator and writer Rebecca Sugar. Despite actually have been released over a year ago, this guide will be a great addition to any fan of the series.
Nickelodeon Pandemonium #1: “The Funniest Graphic Novel in the World!”:
The funniest new stars from Nickelodeon are featured in all-new comics! See Harvey Beaks try to be as adventurous and wild as Fee and Foo! See Pig, Goat, Banana, Cricket get involved in a Seinfeldian comedy plot that pulls each of them into a crazy story that comes together in the end! See SwaySway and Buhdeuce, Breadwinners, do what they do best-deliver delicious breads in their rocket van and breakneck speed (and we all know how painful that can be)! See Sanjay and his pet snake Craig continue to enjoy the finer things in life-such as enjoying hot wings while watching a Tufflips double feature!
Even though the list ended up being heavily dominated by graphic novels. This probably is the most diverse one as it features a mass array of characters from several of Nick’s popular series. With a lot of variety at hand there is a lot of different narrative and art styles to dive into.
