I know that I have talked nearly religiously about “Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir”. Since the series was announced to be arriving on Nick last summer. I love and adore the series, the creative team behind Miraculous and ZAG. It is nothing short of mind-blowing to think that a year ago the world was only starting to be introduced to this incredible world. And that even now we are only at the starting line of what is surely to be epic things from ZAG.
But creating great stories takes time. Right now there is only a handful of remaining episodes from the first season of Miraculous to air. And after that we join rest of the world in waiting for season two next year.
Thankfully there is the on-going comic series from Action Lab Entertainment. And the mass of merchandise to help fill some of our Miraculous needs. Plus the Miraculous fandom is amazing with crafting brilliant fan works that will leave any shipper in paradise.
But if you prefer new canon content. ZAG has your back as they have officially announced the launch of a new YouTube channel and webisodes. According to the press release, the webisode series will consist of 52 episodes revolving around its global hit animated series called Miraculous™: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir currently airing worldwide in over 80 countries on Disney Channel and Saturday mornings (8:30am) on Nickelodeon in the United States.
The webisode series will began airing Tuesday, September 27, 2016 in conjunction with the official launch of the Zag “Miraculous Ladybug” YouTube channel. By visiting the youtube channel often, you will find new episodes plus news about Miraculous including; exclusive reveals, Season 2 updates, fandom stuff, toy and merchandise insider info, doodle drawings, Marinette lifestyle with food, fashion, Paris and of course romance stories and much more.
ZAG will be offering two formats. The first 10 Miraculous webisodes will utilize the 3D animation imagery sharing the personal thoughts and secret diary entries of Marinette, narrated by Christina Vee, the voice of Ladybug/Marinette in the TV series. The second wave of Miraculous webisodes will reveal a new “fan-created” 2D stylized look that will greatly extend the Parisian story world.
“We think our fans of all ages are going to love the super fun look and feel of the newly designed characters in the 2D web series,” said Andre’ Lake Mayer, ZAG, President, Global Brand Strategy & Consumer Products. “The 2D format will let us explore new creative executions while staying true to the ‘Zag style’ of inspirational storytelling, visually intriguing, fun, relevant and high quality content,” Andre’ added.
Being the fangirl I am, I am purely delighted. The 2D stylized look is adorable and very reminiscent of the art style we had seen back when the original PV was released. Plus having the news updates and merchandise info is a cheery on top. Even if everyone’s wallets might not agree so quickly.
I cannot wait to see what comes next both for the characters and the series as a whole. And if you are headed to New York Comic-Con on October 6-9th. Be sure and keep an eye out for the Miraculous Ladybug team. They will be attending the convention so if you are there be sure to tell them how much you love the series.
Be sure to stay tuned here at BSCKids for more news on Miraculous!
