One of our favorite game shows as a child, Legends of the Hidden Temple has a movie that is coming Nickelodeon’s “Legends of the Hidden Temple,” which will premiere November 26.
Drawing from the original game show’s premise of kids competing to retrieve artifacts from a mysterious Mayan temple, the new action-adventure TV movie version will follow three siblings who embark on a high-stakes, life-or-death mission. Jet can be seen co-starring in the new film based off of the infamous Nickelodeon series “Legends of the Hidden Temple” [Original show aired from 1993 – 1995] opposite Kirk Fogg, Colin Critchley and Isabela Moner. An interesting real-life twist on the popular tasks the original contestants went through, the film follows three siblings who break away from a lackluster temple tour in a jungle only to find themselves immersed in a mission comprised of obstacles that they must complete in order to survive. In 2017, Jet will also be heard as the voice of Stinky in a film continuation of an iconic Nickelodeon series. “Hey Arnold! Jungle Movie.”

Jet, tell us a little bit about your character in the new Nickelodeon Film “Legends of the Hidden Temple”? How did you land the role?
I play Dudley. I am the youngest of 3 siblings. He isn’t as adventurous as his older brother, but seems ready to follow his lead. People who watched the series will love this. There is a lot of action.
I got the audition pretty much like any other, but then I was called in several times. We did different chemistry reads so that Nickelodeon and the producers could make sure they liked all of us together.
Take a look at the trailer:
While you were prepping for the movie did you watch the old episodes of the Game show? Did Kirk Fogg give you any pointers?
I did watch old episodes of the series. I loved them. I wish they still filmed the show. I would really love to be on it. I mean it looks like so much fun. We all got to meet Kirk early on when we were in Vancouver filming. He is great and has become a really good friend to all of us. He would tell us old stories about the series and filming.
Did you get to do your own stunts? If so which one did you have the most fun doing?
We always wanted to do our own stunts, but kids really aren’t allowed to do much. They are really protective of us. Just when we would start to do a stunt, they say CUT and they pull us out and put in the stunt people who are adults. It is amazing how they can do that and make it look real. Isabella and I did have to do a scene where we are trapped in quicksand up to our neck. That was very interesting and messy to film. We had to keep changing back into clean wardrobe and sink into the quicksand for another take. Let me just say, “That stuff ends up everywhere.”
Any behind the scene stories you can share with us (funny, scary, or otherwise).
On April Fool’s Day we played a trick on our director Joe Menendez. We had this foggy scene and we made it look like we fell off a ledge down into the fog. Joe jumped up and started to run to us and then he notices that everyone else in the crew just sat there and started laughing. It was so funny.
As a young actor what do you think you learned for this movie?
Well I know that I want to do more action movies and I want to direct. I learned so much from our director Joe. He knew every detail of this story. I saw how much work it was, but it was fun. I want to be part of every aspect of making a movie.
What else are you currently working on? Can you tell us anything about “Hey Arnold: The Jungle Movie”?
Right now I am filming a movie called “Cupid’s Proxy.” We are about to wrap on that. “Hey Arnold: The Jungle Movie” is great! I am so thrilled to be part of that project. I play Stinky.
Tell all the fans why they should watch the new Nickelodeon Film “Legends of the Hidden Temple”?
Well again, if you have ever watched the series you will love the movie. There is so much action!
