Nick Jonas Eyeing Role In Jumanji Reboot
Nick Jonas is really making a name for himself in the acting community after previously taking the music world by storm both as a solo act and as a member of the Jonas Brothers. According to a report from Deadline, Jonas is currently in talks to join the cast of the upcoming Jumanji reboot in a leading role.
If Jonas joins the cast he will star opposite already confirmed cast members Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, and Kevin Hart.
The Jumanji reboot will reportedly return to the source material rather than the iconic 1995 film starring Robin Williams. The source material is a children’s book written by Chris Van Allsburg.
Jake Kasdan, will direct Jumanji from a screenplay by scribe Scott Rosenberg with frequent Bad Robot executive producer Jeff Pinkner serving as a consultant. Matt Tolmach will produce the film. William Teitler is also producing with Ted Field. Mike Weber and Van Allsburg executive produce. Kasdan is known for helming Bad Teacher and Sex Tape while Rosenberg previously worked on High Fidelity and Con Air.
Nick Jonas can be seen in the upcoming dark fraternity drama Goat, in theaters in a limited release September 23. He also plays an ongoing role on the television series “Kingdom” and played a recurring role in the first season of “Scream Queens.”
Jumanji is scheduled for a July 28, 2017 release.
