Having a good baby bath should be somewhere on your list and depending on your lifestyle or home you may not need a big baby bath for a while. Of course if you have limited space or not a lot of counter space having a bath that can transition with the life of your baby well into being a toddler should be something to consider. I browsed tons of baby baths going over some of the pros and cons of each. In the end, the Summer Infant Newborn to Toddler Bath Center & Shower was the one I choose for my registry.
I choose this one mostly because it was transitional, I knew this bath could get me through the early months and eventually the early years of bathing my little one. I find the Summer Infant brand to be quite versatile when it comes to baby baths and there seems to something for every type of parent and price margin. For space reasons I choose this bath as I don’t have a lot of counter space in my bathrooms so bathing my little one in the bathroom sink is out of the realm of possibilities. It is also a huge waste of water to try and even marginally fill my bath tub to bathe my baby.
This bath also comes with moveable parts, from the inclined mesh seat to the shower bucket and head neither are tethered or attached to the bath tub. I find the moving parts quite handy as I could theoretically bathe my baby in any sink that can accommodate the inclined mesh seat. And when I no longer need the mesh seat I can put it away. The shower bucket and head are even more versatile as it could go anywhere, all you need to do is fill it up and presto you have your very own shower head. We use ours outside of the tub to rinse off any soap suds before bundling my baby up in a hooded towel.
The tub itself is also quite handy as it has its own drainage plug so you don’t have to completely upend the tub to get the water out. It is also small enough to fit into a standard tub making it easy to fill, but it is large enough to accommodate infants and young toddlers. I use mine with the shower head outside of the small tub and due to its size I have enough space in my own tub for bathing supplies and products. I like that it also does not take up a lot of space which is nice for my smaller home.
Once I am done bathing my little one cleaning up is easy due to the plug in the tub, also everything can fit nicely back into the tub once they are clean making drying and storage easier. While the shower head does take batteries, the device is so well made I never worry about shocks or leaks into the battery well. This is by far one of my favourite gifts from my baby shower. I have used this several times over the last few months and have had no issues with any part of this tub. While I have seen other fancier tubs come out of Summer Infant, I like this one for the simplicity and ease of use of each of the products. Since I am also a fan of transitional products that don’t take up a lot of space this fits perfectly in my lifestyle. It is well worth looking into or checking out the other tubs from Summer Infant.
