Monster NCredible N-Tune Headphones – Review

At some point it will not just be about the performance of a product it will be about the performance AND the cool factor (fashion) aspect of the product. Monster NCredible N-Tune Headphones delivers on both of these with their multiple colors of candy painted goodness in an over the ear headphones that my kids are currently loving.

Besides the great paint job, we came to find out the hard way about the durability of the product. Not only have the NCredible N-Tunes survived a big foot stepping on them (my sneakers), but they have also ended up in the hands of a 3 year old and have come out just fine. The toddler had a field day with them, bending them, pulling out the cable and after her screaming brother got them back, they were ready to roll once again. A testament to a well made product that they can survive in our house with the family.

As a parent with our kids, we are only interested in the “over the ear” or “on ear” type of headphone like the N-Tune. With most of these types of headphones though, you are usually looking at adult sizes, which can be heavy for the children and not fit right. The N-Tune has a smaller headphone cup as well as being nice and light so it works very nicely for the pre-teen/teen kids. They will still “fit” an adult though, as I have “borrowed” them a few times already (and not wanted to give them back). While I am not an audiophile, but rather a parent, I can say from my perspective that the sound quality was impressive. From the parent end what is great is that because of the higher sound quality, it seems that the kids tend to keep the volume lower, which makes us happy. While we do have volume locks set on their devices, with these headphones in comparison to their previous headphones they were not turning up the volume as high. We also found they complained less about outside noise while listening to music. This makes them a perfect for that long car ride on the way to your next vacation spot.

Another nifty feature is that there are inputs on both sides of the headphones. This means that you can either adjust the wire from your device to headphone cup (left or right) based on your preference or that you can share you music with someone else, another vacation plus. This also helps with the durability of the device should your cable get damaged your headphone will be just fine and you can just replace the cable.

The biggest compliment though come from the 7 year old (dancer/singer) in our house that just calls them “Super Cool!” Take a look at our video below of the Monster N-Tune NCredible Headphones.
