The upcoming film adaptation of the Richelle Mead’s popular book series, “Vampire Academy” has added Sarah Hyland to its already star-studded cast. The novel series already has 6 novels in the original series and a spin-off series consisting of six planned books.
Sarah Hyland is best known for her role as oldest sibling Haley Dunphy on the ABC sitcom “Modern Family.” In the film adaptation of “Vampire Academy” she will play the role of Natalie, one of Rose and Lissa’s best friends and Victor’s (Gabriel Byrne) daughter, who is also one of the leaders of the academy.
The novels tell the story of Rose Hathaway, to be played by Zoey Duetch, a seventeen year old girl who has a mental and spiritual bond with her vampire best friend Lissa, to be played by Lucy Fry in the series. The two girls attend a special school for Vampires who struggle to retain some humanity while other Vampires become more feral.
Other cast members include Sami Gayle, Cameron Monaghan, Danila Kozlovski, and Joely Richardson as Queen Tatiana, leader of the Moroi Vampires and Dominic Sherwood, who will play Christian, Lissa’s love interest.
Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters is set for a worldwide release on February 14, 2014.
