Another year and another gift guide, but I have found that this year has been tough for our Christmas gift giving for our 3-year-old daughter. She is done with all the baby toys and just a little too young for that next step. I think a lot of her being done with the baby and toddler toys has a lot to do she has two older brothers, but we have found a few different items for our daughter and we hope this guide can help you out as well.
NO PLACE LIKE PLAYHOME COTTAGE – Land of Nod: This is the big present, the one to wake up to in the morning with a smiling face! Our daughter loves playing in those pop up tunnels and the boys tent, but they come with their own problems. First they are usually not made of canvas like this Playhome Cottage is and they also do not have such a great looking design. She is really going to feel like she is in a cottage with a very cool mail slot which will become a hit. It may be a bit expensive, but I think that the quality makes up for the extra money you are paying. This is a product that will be sticking around for a while that has some very neat looking windows as well.
Sofia the First 13″ Plush: After watching Sofia the First with my daughter on the Disney Channel in early November, I knew this was going to be a must have, and it is already very tough to find. Sofia is a new princess for Disney. Sofia appeals to the younger crowd as she is younger than the other Disney princesses and may be more relatable to toddlers. The show has done well in the ratings and other princesses do make cameos. Ariel Winter does a great job with the voice and obviously the animation is top-notch. Plus since this is going to be an ongoing series this is a doll that can sit down and watch with your child each week.
The Goon Holler Guidebook by Parker Jacobs: Usually books don’t make the list, but this book is something special. The first thing is that it really could have been included on any of our gift guides, as it appeals to a bunch of different ages, but I decided to keep it here, as I have a hard time taking the book away from my daughter. Parker Jacobs is the art director for YO GABBA GABBA! and you know how awesome that is. The Goon Holler Guidebook is really a whole world building event packed into a book with songs, recipes, jokes, maps, games, stories and much, much more. It is really unlike anything I have read before and you keep going back for new little tidbits of information about Goon Holler. I can only image some sort of TV show and follow-up books in the future for this world of fun characters. A book that will be fun for the whole family, and has enough information to keep your imagination going. Act out your own Goon Holler events, draw your own Goon holler pages, make up a funny song, the material is all there for you to start your adventure. The imagination on Parker is just incredible and to be able to boil it down for the kids in one compact book is beyond creative, this book is something special.
Fisher-Price Undersea Mermaid Dora The Explorer: We are a Dora house and the mermaid episode is one of our daughters favorites. A toy that allows you to play with Dora and then transform her into a Mermaid is a winner.
Foam Balance Beam Dott Products: Our daughter currently goes to gymnastic classes once a week and just loves it. We figured the best and safest thing to bring into the home would be a balance beam. Now when you are looking we wanted to make sure we got one that was not too tall in case she fell off of it. So we found that this one that was 55 inches long 6 inches wide and 3 inches high, a perfect size I believe. It was also far less expensive than some of the other products.
Piggy Paint Natural Children’s Nail Polish – Ribbons, Bows and Toes Gift Set – Formaldehyde Free, Non-Toxic : Our daughter loves nail polish and Piggy Paint was a product that we were introduced to at one of the trade shows we attend. This is the only nail polish we will let her use as it is Non-Toxic and something we feel comfortable with. I think that Piggy Paint should be nail polish that everyone uses but if you are using anything else for the younger kids I think that is a mistake. My daughter puts her hands in her mouth on occasion and feel pretty comfortable even when she has nail polish on now. They also have some great colors and we needed to get our daughter some new ones for her nails.
Dora the Explorer: 9″ Boots: We are a Dora house like I said before, and now our daughter can go on her own adventures with Boots and pretend she is Dora!
VTech InnoTab 2S Wi-Fi Learning App Tablet- Pink : We wanted to get our daughter her own tablet, so we settled on the InnoTab 2S from VTech
LEGO DUPLO Disney Princess Cinderella’s Carriage: Our daughter got some of the other playsets for her birthday last year and she just loved them! The Carriage is one of the sets she did not have and she will be able to incorporate it in her play with her other Lego Duplo Princess products.
Calico Critters Adventure Treehouse: Calico Critters are always something that our daughter plays with because they are so darn cute, and this year we got her the Adventure Treehouse. It looks like it will be something fun for her that is different from the other houses that her Calico Critters now inhabit
Fisher-Price Disney’s Princess Bowtique Minnie Mouse: This Minnie Mouse makes it very easy for little hands to be able to change her outfits. This is an addition that allows Minnie to dress up like a Disney’s Princess, can you sense a princess theme here?
Megabloks Dora’s Buildable Bedroom: If it isn’t a princess it should be Dora and we want her to be able to build with some Dora products and Megabloks has her covered here.
Fisher-Price Little People Disney Princess Songs Palace: If this was just a palace that held some Fisher-Price Little People Disney Princess characters it would be cool. The thing is it is much more than that because you can place any princess on the dance floor to hear her name, a song and some other princess phrases. Comes with Cinderella and Snow White and this is one super cool product.
You can also take a look at our Christmas Gift Guide from last year which has toys on it for the 2-year-old. Our daughter has a birthday in March so I just consider her age up for the gifts during the holiday, and you can also check out all our other BSCKids Holiday Gift Guides for more options.
