BSCkids: Paul Becker
How did you get into this line of work?
I trained every day after school to be a dancer. I had always had an eye for choreography. When a choreographer didn’t show up on set one day, I was promoted.
What kind of choreographing did you do for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2?
I am not allowed to talk about it or, a vampire will bite me.
Who was the best and worst dancer when you worked with the famed actors of the Twilight Saga?
I’m risking my life here.
What kind of prep works comes with creating a routine or scene for a movie?
There are endless meetings! But I see things in my mind and I do my best to put them on its feet. There are camera movements to design and lots of boring paperwork.
What was the best part about choreographing the series “Hellcats?”
The cheerleaders!!
Were there any difficult moments when it came to working with the actors?
It was very dangerous and everyone was always getting hurt.
Tell us about the film you are working on called “Who’s Your Monster”
This is a Disney Channel movie for Halloween starring Oliva Holtz. It was very fun….big dance and musical numbers.
You have worked with numerous actors over the years, who has been the most memorable and why?
Most recently I worked with Jeremy Renner. Watching his talent as an actor alone was pretty awesome. Great guy.
Which project of yours are you most proud of?
I am proud of new things each day. I would have to say my daughter. She is so special!
If being a choreographer hadn’t worked out, what other career do you think you would have chosen?
Prob something creative still, like a film editor.
