Busch Gardens announced that its newest and biggest attraction will be opening Friday, May 18th. The Verbolten is the park’s new, never before seen, multi launch, indoor/outdoor roller coaster. This highly anticipated new attraction has been on peoples minds since its announcement in September 2010, and now the wait is finally over.
Larry Giles, the Busch Gardens’ vice president of engineering said,
“The combination of hard work and a mild winter has put us right on track for a May 18 opening. We can’t wait to debut the largest roller coaster project in the park’s 37-year history.”
The Verbolten is more than just your traditional coaster. It includes two high-speed launch areas that will propel riders into the Black Forest. From there, riders will experience a free-fall element of nearly 90 feet over the Rhine River. The ride is not only breathtaking but it also immerses its riders into the story of the Verbolten.
The Verbolten is a part of the new two- year rejuvenation project in Busch Gardens’ Oktoberfest village. But the Verbolten is not the only new attraction for guests this year. Joining the ride is the new Mach Tower, a 240-foot drop tower. Also new this year is the addition of Entwined: Tales of Good and Grimm, a new show performed inside Das Festhaus, completes the park’s Oktoberfest transformation.
