BSCkids: The Wonder Girls
What can you tell us about your special, “The Wonder Girls” that will be premiering on TeenNick?
“The Wonder Girls” will give the viewers a look at us in a new and different light and show our true passion for life. The movie shows our friendship, sisterhood, and also our love for music.
What was the funniest thing that happened while you were shooting your special?
Oh wow! Yenny has a kissing scene in the movie! We all gathered around and stared at her and giggled the whole time they were filming it! She was blushing.
Your special has a cameo with Nick Cannon; did you get to meet him?
Yes, he is so great. We had met him before we filmed the special as well; he was just really sweet and gracious which really means a lot to us.
How did it feel to have your song enter the Billboard Hot 100?
We actually heard the news for the first time in Korea because we had left the U.S. that day. It was such a special moment where we were all just speechless. It was amazing!
You have opened for some hot acts like the Jonas Brothers, who has been your favorite to open for?
We have opened for the Jonas Brothers and Justin Bieber. We really loved both, but having been on tour with the Jonas Brothers for a longer period of time we have more memories with them. They are so fun to be with and we really miss them!
Who would you say is the goofiest and silliest in your group?
We would have to say Lim because she laughs at everything! She is one happy girl!
What has been the most fun thing you’ve done while touring the US?
In 2010, we took flights everywhere when we were touring. On our way to NY our flight got cancelled and it was going to be one of the biggest shows. Some people were saying we would have to cancel, but we ended up finding a private jet that would take us and doing our own make up in the air because we didn’t want to delay the show. It was such a crazy and hectic moment, but now thinking back it was so much fun and such a great experience!
Your debut English language album is about to be released. Was it hard to transition from Korean to English for the album?
Not really. We like to try and experiment with different ideas. Sometimes it was challenging because of the pronunciation but other than that we grew up practicing and singing American pop music, which we think, really helped.
Do any of you have a favorite song to perform?
We love it when our fans interact with us. In the U.S. we love to perform “Nobody” since people know the dance and like to sing along but …we can’t pick just one song. That’s difficult for us!
Are you going to be doing another tour anytime soon?
We are planning to do a world tour since we have new songs from the Korean album and US album. We can’t wait, it’s always great to meet the fans and be able to show them what we have been working on.
