So this week’s episode, “What Remains”, aired on October 10th. It involved a pathogen that made people forget, well everything, when they came in contact with it. When Elisabeth and Taylor travel to a research outpost, they soon can’t remember where they are and what they are doing. Jim and Malcolm come to the rescue but are hestitant about falling to the same fate.
I was actually looking forward to this episode because unlike the past two I felt like it actually had an interesting storyline. Also the tension between Josh and Skye and Maddy and Reynolds is something that I like to watch unfold. A lot happened between the two young couples of this episode while their parents were away forgetting they even existed.
The Maddy-Reynolds Part:
Reynolds makes it known that he is “comin’ a courting” for Maddy. Doing things the old fashion way. I thought this was incredibly sweet. Yeah they are 85 millions years in the past, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have to do things the right way with a girl! He comes over to meet her parents and such. Which goes awkwardly to say the least. Maddy can’t seem to stop talking whether its about random facts or the evolution of limes and their affects on authentic key lime pie. But all this is endearing at least and I have a feeling the Reynolds thinks the same thing.
When it finally becomes time for Maddy to have Reynolds over, she panics. She changes her outfit three times! (Which Elisabeth points out to Jim, she did the same for him) It is cute. You can really tell how nervous she is but also how excited.
Reynolds also visits Maddy to make sure she is ok when both her parents are missing. How great! Then he uses his military connection to keep Zoe safe just in case. Even if she is a little awkward and he is a little old fashion, I think this shows how much he likes her.
The Skye-Josh Connection:
Also, it is SO totally obvious Skye’s crush on Josh. At first she just seemed to treat him like a new guy her age to hang out with in Terra Nova but now she totally looks at him with loving eyes. Every time they hang out I just think they need to kiss already and get it over with because they both want to! I mean Skye makes it apparent that she wants him when she giggles cutely and touches his leg. C’mon!
But the wish is granted, and Josh finally kisses Skye (or is it the other way around?) However, as much as they like each other, Josh does the right thing. He still cares for his old girlfriend, Kara, and tells Skye it wouldn’t be right to start a relationship with her at the moment. He couldn’t just forget she existed when he got to Terra Nova! I mean he did promise to try and get her over there. I personally don’t think he can start a relationship with Skye until he knows in his head that he did everything he could to try and bring Kara over. Once that happens, I think he will feel justified in moving on. And Skye is more of a woman than me to offer to help Josh to find a way to bring her over. She is above all a good friend and I think that is an important aspect to their relationship (whether friendship or future dating relationship.)
Keep an eye for next week’s episode of Terra Nova that airs on Monday nights and a new review every week!
