It looks like the words war is heating up between Playstation and Nintendo. Senior exec at Sony has given Nintendo 3DS a severe verbal breakdown, calling the 3DS console a ‘babysitting tool’.
He claimed that no twenty something is going to sit on an airplane with the 3DS in their hands. Of course these are not the only words minced between the two, Playstation claims that Nintendo’s offerings are childish and underpowered while Playstation devices are more appealing to the hardcore gamer and crammed with handfuls of high powered hardware. The 3DS is not the only thing that Playstation took aim at the Wii mocking the system that has sold 85 million units for not having a hard drive. Of course the hardware overload has led to the longevity of their products such as the PS2 which is still going strong even after 10 years on sale.
Sony will not be abandoning its everything under the sun approach to its consoles including the new NGP which will have tons of tech with hi-res touchscreen, two cameras, two analogue sticks, and a touch-sensitive trackpad around the back. But all this high tech may make the hand held bulky or expensive. What do you think of the new 3DS? Would you play it on an airplane?
