Our favorite unsigned artist MacKayla Hunter has been super busy lately and we want to let everyone know what has been going on with her, so let’s get caught up with her. She has been on radio shows, been interviewed in newspapers, and she is even going to be interviews on television! She has recently performed at the Knitting Factory on New Year’s Eve and we have some video of her Sound Check below. Make sure to check out MacKayla’s Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/mackaylahunter to get the latest news and find the specifics for those interviews. She is also going to be doing a benefit concert in February and I have attached the poster above.
Reckless Abandon and MacKayla are doing a benefit concert with another local musician – Travis McDaniel – on February 12, 2011 at the Nampa Civic Center. The benefit is sponsored by the Nampa Police Association and the proceeds will go to the Nampa police officer who was shot. Tickets are $5.00 at the door or can be purchased through the Civic Center Ticket office. There will be raffles and auctions that night as well. The concert is from 6:00 to 10:00
Also, if you want some more background on MacKayla check out our interview with her. Stay tuned as we will have some more MacKayla Hunter news coming. She was kind enough to record Happy Birthday for my boys and I will be sharing that with the site later in the month. We will also be continuing the interview with her this month and she has graciously agreed to write some articles for BSCkids while she continues her musical journey. Her family has really raised her to be a great person and her talents have created a great musician. She is not going to stay unsigned for long, her talent and charisma will just not allow it. Even at 15 years old she is learning to command the stage and engage the audience, talents that a successful entertainer must have. Watch her Sound Check on New Year’s Eve below .
