BSCkids ups the ante with part two of our interview with MacKayla Hunter as we talk Disney and Nick stars. Who better to ask about teen stars than a extremely talented singer and songwriter? So we caught up with MacKayla Hunter and asked her opinion on some of those double-threat actor/singer combinations on both the Disney Channel and Nickelodeon.
BSCKids: Who are some of your favorite singers from current Disney Channel and Nick shows and why? Would you change your mind if you were allowed to select older shows?
MacKayla Hunter: Some of my favorite singers from Disney Channel and Nick would definitely have to be Demi Lovato, The Jonas Brothers, and Selena Gomez.
No, I think that these musicians have been some of the best on Disney Channel and Nick. They are all extremely talented.
What is your favorite Disney show of all time? Favorite Nick show of all time? Why?
My favorite Disney Channel show off all time would definitely have to be The Cheetah Girls. I love them! My sisters and I used to pretend we were them. We knew all the dances. 🙂
My favorite Nick show off all time is probably Zoey 101. I used to watch that religiously! It had a great cast!
Camp Rock or High School Musical: which one has better dancing and music?
My preference is High School Musical, but they are both great movies! I like the Jonas Brothers, but High School Musical definitely takes the cake for me. Both of the movies have great music and dancing! I don’t think either one is better for any of those reasons.
Who would be your favorite actress and actors on the shows, based on their acting ability?
Based on acting ability, I think that Demi Lovato is my favorite from Camp Rock, and Zac Efron is my favorite from High School Musical.
What is your favorite song from animated Disney movies past and present? Which character in the animated Disney movies do you feel like you can connect with?
My favorite animated Disney movie is definitely Spirit. The soundtrack is absolutely incredible! All of those songs are probably in my top ten. But when I was younger, my favorite song was from The Little Mermaid.
This sounds so cliche, but I feel like I can connect with Cinderella the best. She was underestimated by everyone, and then ended up a princess. I have been told that I am not good enough on more than one occasion, but I feel like I’ve come a long way in the last year and proven all of those people wrong.
If you were able to sing on one of the shows as a guest star which show would it be and why? What sort of song do you think you would sing?
Big Time Rush, definitely! It would be so fun to do some sort of duet with them!
I would probably want to do some sort of pop song. It’s a change for me, and I think it would be fun to do something different!
Which singer do you think should have their own show that does not? Why would you want to watch them?
I think that Corbin Bleu should definitely have his own show. He is SO talented, in acting, singing, and dancing. He’d be fun to watch.
Stay Tuned for Part 3 of the MacKayla Interview, where we catch MacKayla and she gives us a video interview! Record companies get ready to sign this girl, she is the real deal.
