Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer – NINTENDO DS – Review

My boys have been playing their Nintendo DS before going to bed with the weather turning a bit cold, and what better way to get excited for the holiday season than to play some Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer.  This is not a hard complex game that will have them throwing the stylus; it is a game that you can feel comfortable letting your children play as they learn (or reconnect) with Rudolph and his friends for the holiday season through a bunch of different mini-games.  You will be playing with everyone you know from the classic show by completing the mini-games while they immerse you in the stories. 

There are four different stories, and the mini-games range from coloring to matching to some music games.  My favorite was the Charlie Says game, and, yes, you can find me playing after the boys go to bed.  They had a blast with Word Find and Racing, among others.  My soon to be 7-year-old boy, who plays all different types of games, found it enjoyable, and for the young boy who turns 5 it was also perfect, even if he did need a little help with the reading.  The fact that there are some new stories in the game are great; you actually get to play Rudolph and his friends in the reindeer games as part of the interactive story!

To sum it up, this is a game that is fun, non-frustrating, and will get both children and adults in the holiday spirit.  This is one of those games that can be played every single year around the holidays–how is that for replayability?  Where else can you free Bumble with a matching game?
