Converstation Cards for the Entire Family. Fun game, no rules! Pick a card & let’s talk!
We were introduced to U.S. Games Systems, Inc., either at BEA or Toy Fair, and I can tell you we are quite happy to have come into contact with them, as the TravelTalk cards saved us on a trip to Hilton Head and Universal Studios this summer. Not only did they amuse the children, but they also get to teach you as a parent a little bit more of what your little ones are thinking about. Taking a look at the TravelTalk Card below, you would be amazed at all the information you get from your kids when they are asked what country they would want to visit and what they would like to do. Our one boy said he wanted to visit China so that he could learn more about Kung Fu. Those next 2 hours went by rather quickly, as my wife continued to read cards and my kids continued to answer questions.
Now you have HobbyTalk and PirateTalk to join TravelTalk. I have taken a look through both and feel that HobbyTalk may actually be my favorite one so far. We have not played with the kids as we are planning to “save” it for the next long car ride, but it looks like a winner. Questions like “What is your favorite breed of dog or cat?” and “What kind of underwater creatures would you like to see?” look like gems. The cards themselves have some facts listed before the questions that help warm your kids up to the questions being asked. Perfect, in my opinion, and since my kids see it as a “game” they have a good time with it. PirateTalk is also very cool with the theme being Pirates (obviously), and I am looking forward to finding out “What would you choose as your pirate name and why?” from my kids. The artwork is nice, and the cards are sturdy, so no worries about the quality here.
If you want to become a bit closer to your kids, get an idea of what is going on in their head, or just save yourself some aggravation while on a long car ride, then these conversation cards are what you need. Pick some up for your children for the holidays–perfect stocking stuffers! I love games that I can feel like I am learning something along with my kids, and these fit the bill.
