This is going to be something new for us, as we break up the review a bit so both both my wife and myself can weigh in on the Douglas Company Green Frog Gift Ensemble. You can check out a picture of the new baby with the product at the end of the post!
Jocelin:
We received a great gift pack of plush snuggly toys from Douglas Toys for the new baby. With her being only a few weeks old, it is hard to tell which lovey she will become attached to yet. There were two sizes/styles of cuddle toy. The first one is about a foot square, super-soft fuzzy blanket with a happy frog head in the middle. What makes it extra special is the silky edging and tags at each corner, in case your child prefers the feel of silk to the fuzzy material of the rest of the toy. The second cuddle toy is very similar to the first, but smaller. I envision this being the one that I allow her to bring out of the house. It is the size of a washcloth and is made of the same fuzzy material, but instead of the silky edging and and tags, this one has two silky pieces of material where the pads of the froggies hands are. The final toy in the set is an adorable matching rattle, a plastic ring with the matching frog head. To round out the set is a hooded towel. The material is a nice thick terry; it is cute and a pretty color, but a bit of a different shade when paired with the rest of the toys, probably due to the material.

I think that Douglas Toys has a great product and has positioned it well by creating these Gift Ensembles. I can already see where being invited to a baby shower gets that much easier if you know about this product. Have a budget in mind, so you can mix and match to find your specific price point and have a quality product that can be added to in the future. If you decide that you want to buy it all at once, you will be pleased to have a consistent product that looks good. Putting the four products–Lil’ Snuggler, Wuvee, Rattle, and Animal Towel–together makes for a great-looking set. I also wanted to mention that you have many different styles to match your own personal style or match up with whatever the rest of family and friends are thinking about getting. For our new girl, we have a room with green curtains with bugs on them from Pottery Barn, so we decided on the green frog ensemble. You have enough choices to find something that matches with the color scheme you want for the reoom. I think they did a good job with the face of the frog, also, as it is cute and friendly looking, and the material for all the products was great. The rattle is perfect for holding the theme, and the Animal Towel will be great to dry off your little one after bath time. We have always found we never have enough towels that the children like; my two boys were always a fan of the hood on their towels. The Lil’ Snuggler has nice silk edges, and for our kids silk has always been a favorite for sucking on. The quality of the stiching is nice, and it looks like it will hold up well. My favorite piece of the set, though, would have to be the Wuvee. I am one of those adults who still has that little scrap of their baby blanket, and while I might not have called it a Wuvee, the name is also a keeper.
What parent isn’t familiar with a child who has a favorite blankie, the blankie that goes everywhere with that child no matter what? Over time, the favorite blanket starts to get tattered and torn, and before you know it, it is a small square of fabric that has literally been loved to pieces. Douglas Baby Cuddle Toy has created a new concept in blankies called Wuvees™
A home run with this product; I love the size, and the frog has silky pads for hands. For parents it has a nostalgic element already built into it. The Wuvee and Lil’ Snuggler are just great to touch and feel with their top-quality plush material. You can check out some photos of the product in the gallery below.
