Disney Channel – Sonny With A Chance To Be Renamed As So Random

Since Demi Lovato took time out to recover, Disney has switched focus of her show Sonny With A Chance. But after rumors swirled that the show was not going to be renamed, Disney has changed their mind. Brandon Smith talks about the name switching So Random, which you will find at the bottom of this post.

It does not look well for any chance of Demi coming back this season. Why else would they change the name of the show? Hopefully, either she will come back or she will find a new show-or solely focus on her music career. Maybe Demi will issue an update soon.

What do you think about this news? Are you sad to see chances if Demi returning quickly going away? Or do you think we still have a good chance at her returning to the show in near future? I think that Demi is mature enough to do what is best for her, but it is sad for all of her young fans to see her show changing.

   I think it’s stupid on Disney’s end to do such a thing. This will kill their ratings. Demi is pretty much the sole reason why people watch the show. Without her…there is no reasons to watch. Let’s face it. The skits far horrible and nobody gives a hoot about the ore cast cast members save for sterling knight. No sonny, no show.

   What’s the point really?
   Disney are basically wasting money filming ‘So Random’ because it’s going to fail. ‘So Random’ won’t be as popular as ‘Sonny With A Chance’ because it’s just not that interesting without Sonny (Demi Lovato). When I watched the pilot for ‘Sonny With A Chance’ I watched for Demi Lovato. Then, as the show progressed I watched for Sonny and Chad, who quickly became my favourite two-some on TV. If the show is just being focused on ‘So Random’ then there will be a lot less Chad. So now the show has no Sonny and hardly any Chad. There really is no reason for me to watch.
   Another reason is, in season 2 of ‘Sonny With A Chance’ there were two episodes made up completely of sketches, ‘So Random Halloween Special’ and ‘So Random Christmas Special’ and to be honest I found these two episodes not particularly funny in comparison to regular episodes. And now Season 3 (or Season 1 of ‘So Random’) is going to be episode after episode of sketches, that I don’t want to watch because it lacks four things. One, Sonny Munroe (Demi Lovato). Two, chad dylan cooper (sterling knight). Three, Channy (A combination of the names Chad and Sonny, to make their couple name). And Four, funny (I’m not saying the show will be just about as funny as going to a funeral or watching paint dry, but it won’t be as funny as Season Two or Season Three).
   Also, Disney are simply doing this because they don’t want to lose money on holding back production of the show, but I don”t believe they’ve really thought this whole thing through. Money is Disney’s number one goal, they don’t care for Demi’s well being, they just wanted money. No, I’m not saying this because I hate Disney, I love it. I believe Disney World is the happiest place on Earth (I’ve been three times and want to go several times more), I also adore the Disney Channel. But it doesn’t mean I can’t be against some stuff Disney do, eg, this!
   So, in conclusion, Disney? Why bother with So Random? Because it’s not the same as ‘Sonny With A Chance’.
   I love Sonny with A Chance, but until the show is back to ‘Sonny’ I’m tuning out.

   I won’t want to watch it without Demi! She made the show what it is… disney’s making a mistake. I love Demi!!! I hope she is happy now She’s so amazing and the most talented girl disney have ever had. I always thought she was too good for disney but it’s sad if she won’t be returning to Swac

   if they change th name they have to change all the sohow and nobody wants that

   i think thats not right for Demi lovato not being on the show or changing So Random she is the funny one and very pretty disney can not do this she is the Star of this show without this show it wont even be popular or with out her!

   I’m a recent fan of Sonny with a Chance. I was sick, bored and running out of Netflix movies. Stumbled upon SWAC and fell in love with the show and Demi Lovato. This is the only Disney show I watch and, if they switch it to So Random!, well, I guess my Disney run was short-lived. I love all the characters but Sonny and Chad are my favorites and I wasn’t a huge fan of the So Random only episodes. I’ll be keeping an eye out for Demi’s return however.

   It’s sad though, because I think they could have done this in a way that would have kept me interested without having to fall back on the skits only. It think it could have been hilarious to have Sonny return to Wisconsin for some reason (like needing time to recover from her breakup with Chad, family illness, etc) and then watched the chaos that followed in her absense. They’ve already shown that the others have come to rely on her so I imagine they would loose their minds without her. Then there is also an explained reason for Sonny’s absense and an easy way for her to come back in whenever Demi is ready to come back.

   i dont really watch disney channel but i ‘ve watched sonny with a chance online and i actually thought it was a pretty great show.it’s sad to see demi leave the show ,but it’s better if we just leave her be and let her take a break till she feels,alright to come back. but i do agree with out demmi on the show it’s not that grate. <3

   If Disney decides to focus solely on So Random, I’m pretty sure their ratings would go down.

   Also, they should make Mackenzie falls into a show too! The short clips are hilarious! Even better than So Random sketches I swear.

    Guys, calm down. It’s not like Disney fired her. Demi is leaving for her own health. Don’t you want her to be happy and healthy? I agree that ‘So Random’ will never be as good as SWAC, but this is for Demi’s own good. Besides, it’s not like she’s disapearing off the face of the earth, she’s just going to be focusing more on her music. Why don’t you just support her in that? And remember, just because she’s leaving the show doesn’t mean that she’s not the same beautiful and talented girl that we know and love.

    I agree with everyone else.I tried watching “So Random” with my 10 year old daughter and i thought it was SO BAD that i actually fell asleep.In my opinion,without Demi,”So Random” will be a flop.”Sonny with a chance” was funny,interesting and a good show to watch because of Demi.She really made that show what it was.I’m not saying that the other actors aren’t good,it’s just not the same or as near as good without Demi as apart of it all.Another thing i didn’t like was that they didn’t even mention the character of Sonny Monroe or what happened to her or why she’s not on the show anymore.They acted like Demi’s character didn’t even ever exist and wasn’t important enough to mention.Come on Disney.Demi made SWAC a great show and made you ALOT of money because of it and this is the thanks and respect she gets in return?That TOTALLY SUCKS.Demi is beautiful,talented and a great actor and you should have done anything and everything possible to get her back.Well,whatever.No offense to the other actors,but “So Random” will NEVER be as good as SWAC because Demi is NOT on it.BRING BACK DEMI.BRING BACK SWAC and i’ll start watching again.Otherwise…see ya.Demi,good luck with the rest of your career and whatever you do with your life.God bless you and just know that you are VERY MUCH MISSED.I hope SOMEDAY disney will come to their senses and bring you back.Until then,take care.My daughter and i both love you very much.Thank you for all you did for SWAC and for entertaining us all.YOU’RE THE BEST.

      I tend to agree, I didnt have high hopes for So Random because Demi really did carry the show when it was SWAC.

    I understand wat everyone is saying about demi but dont take it out on disney alot of there shows are promising and acctually so random is a good show i like and i love alot od the sketches and u always have live concerts at the end with todays hottest stars and sterling knight(chad) has stuck around
    Its not that bad of a show
