It is more than a movie.
It became an internet sensation. Captivated the world. Broke streaming and music records. Gathered seemingly endless collaborations. Had fans battling it out at McDonald’s. Released merchandise that, even more than a year later, continues to sell out.
KPop Demon Hunters is no longer simply a film.
It’s a pop-culture staple that has shattered nearly every expectation surrounding it and created something perhaps even stronger than the Golden Honmoon our trio of K-pop stars once dreamed of.
We’ve watched it. We’ve listened to it. We’ve worn it. We’ve collected it.
Now, we’re about to step inside it.
In a world where there seem to be very few firsts left for KPop Demon Hunters, fans will soon be able to fully immerse themselves in the world they adore with the long-awaited KPop Demon Hunters immersive experience headed to Netflix House in Dallas and Philadelphia this November.
First teased back in June as part of the film’s one-year anniversary celebration, the experience is finally here — finally golden.
Netflix has announced the grand opening dates for this HUNTR/X experience, beginning November 12 at Netflix House Dallas before opening November 20 at Netflix House Philadelphia.
And this time, fans aren’t simply watching the demon hunters.
They’re becoming part of the story.
The experience begins backstage with Rumi, Mira and Zoey ahead of the opening night of the latest stop on their world tour.
Sounds exciting, right?
Well, this is KPop Demon Hunters. You know things can’t possibly be that easy.
Gwi-Ma crashes the party, pulling guests into a mission alongside HUNTR/X to restore the Honmoon and take down demons across Seoul.
Using interactive sets and screens alongside 3D technology, the experience promises to make fans feel as though they’ve stepped straight into the world of the film. Music and play-based challenges will be joined by live actors and custom animation as guests work their way through the story.
And naturally, the music of KPop Demon Hunters will be there every step of the way.
You know, the same soundtrack everyone has already ensured is going to show up in our Spotify Wrapped. Again.
But while we certainly love our girls, they aren’t the only familiar faces waiting inside Netflix House.
Guests will also get the chance to come face-to-face with none other than our beloved Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird.
Yes.
Derpy Tiger.
In real life.
For the first time, the fan-favorite character will be brought into the physical world through puppetry, creating what promises to be one particularly sweet — and wonderfully true-to-story — interaction.
Though much of the experience will be spent performing on stage and hunting demons, we’re not entirely sure how much couch-couch-couch time will be available between missions.
What we do know is that guests will be able to refuel with themed food and drink items inspired by the film.
There will also be exclusive photo opportunities and, of course, all-new merchandise that you already know our wallets-wallets-wallets will never be prepared for.
Tickets begin rolling out September 22 for eligible Mastercard cardholders, followed by Netflix members on September 29 and the general public on October 1.
So, are we ready for the takedown?
You can count on that.
Because even more than a year later, KPop Demon Hunters isn’t slowing down. What began as a movie has become music, merchandise, collectibles, collaborations and now an entire world fans can physically step inside.
It just keeps going up, up, up into one very golden future.
And we can’t wait to see where HUNTR/X takes us next.
