“Sofia The First” Royal Magic Release Theme Song and Release Details

School is back in session for Princess Sofia.

In February, fans of Disney’s popular and beloved princess-in-training were delighted with the news of an all-new sequel series for Sofia the First. Now, as we approach the upcoming release of Sofia the First: Royal Magic, even more details have been revealed.

Fans will return to Sofia’s world on Monday, May 25 at 7 a.m. EDT/PDT on Disney Jr. and Disney Jr. On Demand, where the magical start of Sofia the First: Royal Magic will enchant viewers. The following day, Tuesday, May 26, the series debut—along with the first eight episodes—will be available on Disney+ in the U.S. and select international markets. The series will continue rolling out globally throughout the rest of the year.

In addition, Disney has released the new theme song for the series on YouTube, with the track also arriving on music platforms. This updated theme offers a fresh take on the classic Sofia opening, reflecting the new chapter in her life. As music has always been central to Sofia’s storytelling, a full soundtrack will be released on May 29 following the series’ premiere.

As if that wasn’t exciting enough, fans of Disney Princesses will be thrilled to see appearances from beloved heroines, including Cinderella, Aurora, Jasmine, and Rapunzel. For the very first time, Moana will also appear, alongside the exciting return of Elena. Each royal will be voiced by their original actors, offering Sofia guidance, wisdom, and support on her journey.

The cast includes returning star Ariel Winter as Sofia, alongside new additions Nate Torrence as Pepper, Mela Pietropaolo as Layla, Kai Harris as Zane, and Aaliyah Magcasi as Camila. Recurring and guest stars include Beanie Feldstein, Yvette Nicole Brown, James Monroe Iglehart, Jeremy Swift, and Tony Hale. Reprising their roles from the original series are Wayne Brady, Tim Gunn, Eric Stonestreet, Sara Ramirez, Travis Willingham, Darcy Rose Byrnes, and Jess Harnell.

Beyond the screen, Sofia is also returning to Disney Parks as part of Cool Kid Summer at Walt Disney World, as well as the upcoming Disney Jr. Let’s Play! Party at Disney California Adventure in August.

New toys and role-play items from Sofia the First: Royal Magic will also arrive later this summer from Just Play, launching exclusively at Walmart in the U.S. before a wider global rollout.
