Following its first release in late 2013, Disney’s juggernaut and lightning-in-a-bottle feature film Frozen captivated audiences in theaters across the globe. Since its debut, Disney has created a steady stream of Frozen-based merchandise and media to delight fans — from various LEGO Disney sets and animated shorts to the wildly popular sequel. Fans continue to long for even more stories centered around the royal sisters, Elsa and Anna.
The sister duo is slated to return to the big screen on November 24, 2027, with the franchise’s third installment. A fourth film is already in co-development alongside the third, further building anticipation. Fans have been waiting with bated breath to discover what magical adventures await Elsa, Anna, Olaf, and the rest of the beloved cast.
According to a recent interview in License Global, Paul Gitter, Executive Vice President of Global Brand Commercialization at Disney Consumer Products, confirmed on record that a new short film will arrive this fall. This is likely a key component of the branding and marketing efforts designed to reignite fan excitement ahead of the highly anticipated third installment.
At the time of writing, the existence of this all-new short is all that has been confirmed. Specific details regarding the rollout — including where it will debut, what it may be attached to, or any plot elements — remain rooted in speculation.
Even with these unknown variables, it is clear that Disney is gearing up for what could become one of the most dynamic marketing campaigns for a feature film in recent years.
We here at BSCKids are excited to see more of the Frozen story unfold, along with everything Disney has planned. It will certainly be something fans won’t want to let go of.
