Exclusive Interview: Actor & The Wayfinders Star Evan Nikolas Fields

Angel Studios has been knocking it out of the park lately (go get a subscriptions if you don’t already have one) and we got the opportunity to talk to actor and The Wayfinders star Evan Nikolas Fields about the show, what it is like on set, as well as some other fun and interesting points. Evan Nikolas Fields stars as one of the leads in The Wayfinders, an original action series from Angel Studios. He portrays Flynn Griffin, one of three high school students who are mysteriously transported from their everyday lives into a fantastical new world. Flynn becomes the emotional compass of the group, the one who grounds everyone when things start to fall apart. His character arc starts from the journey of someone uncertain of who they are trying to grow into someone who believes in themselves and the people around them.

BSCKids: Tell us how you got the role of Flynn Griffin on The Wayfinders and what do you have in common with your character?

Evan Nikolas Fields: I was drawn to Flynn because he’s not a perfect hero. He’s unsure and scared, yet he still shows up, which felt very real to me.

Can you tell us any fun behind the scenes things that have happened while filming.

One fun moment the fans might not know is that we arrived to set about a week before Easter, so we couldn’t spend it with our families. Issy Knopfler (Princess Aurora) suggested hosting an Easter dinner for the cast, and everyone brought a dish or two. Sitting down to a full Easter meal together before shooting started was definitely one of my favorite moments.

What has been your favorite scene from one of the episodes that have aired already.

My favorite scenes to film were all of them on location in Ireland. We filmed in real castles and across some incredible landscapes, which added so much authenticity to every scene.

If you could guest star on any of the other Angel Studios series which one would it be and why?

Homestead: The Series, for sure, because I really enjoy thrillers.

Tell us something we would be surprised to know about you.

I’m always curious and love learning new things. Questioning everything and staying open to knowledge is something that really drives me.

When you are not filming, what are some of the things you like to do?

I enjoy going to the movies, playing pickleball, and trying/eating good food.

Everyone should be watching The Wayfinders because it’s one of a kind. What sets it apart is the heart of the story. It’s a fantasy show, but at its core, it’s really about relationships, trust, and finding where you belong.
