Is This Your Harry Potter?

We have our new cast for Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, And Ron Weasley in Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton and Alastair Stout and we are happy to know they are not well known for other roles. There is something special in these roles and it is great to have this be their breakout role as it really makes us feel like they are the characters they are portraying. This is going to be a great adaptation as there is much more time for each of the books to be fully fleshed out in the season on HBO Max and we decided to talk to our daughter who was/is a huge Harry Potter fan, being an expect in the books and movies how she felt about the casting.

While we might have a little nostalgia for the old cast, she was very excited to see the new cast and even gave me some insight into the Hermione Granger character as well. This is a large part of the upcoming audience, kids who have read the books, watched the movies and are looking for a new representation of the story. That as well as the people that have never read the books or seen the movies. We also think along with the new technology these are really going to be a great representation of the books and we are looking forward to watching the kids grow up while filming. Our daughter did make another comment though, how would it be for the kids to film for most of their childhood, but she felt like they would make great friends on the set. Get ready for a wild broom ride, or maybe flying car ride in the near future.

The HBO Original HARRY POTTER television series has cast screen newcomers Dominic McLaughlin in the role of Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.

Francesca Gardiner (showrunner, executive producer) and Mark Mylod (director of multiple episodes, executive producer) quote: “After an extraordinary search led by casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, we are delighted to announce we have found our Harry, Hermione, and Ron. About the series: The series will be a faithful adaptation of the beloved Harry Potter books by author and executive producer J.K. Rowling. Each season will bring Harry Potter to new and existing audiences, streaming exclusively on HBO Max where it’s available, including in upcoming launch markets Germany, Italy and the UK. The original classic films will remain available to watch around the world.
