Flora & Ulysses is coming to Disney+ and will star Matilda Lawler, Alyson Hannigan, Ben Schwartz, Anna Deavere Smith, Danny Pudi, Benjamin Evans Ainsworth, Janeane Garofolo and Kate McCucci as we find out about the 10-year-old Flora and the superhero squirrel Ulysses. This looks like so much fun and what we already love is since it is based on a Newbery winning book, we know that it is going to have a solid story and great characters for the show.
There is some star power here as well with the case that they have put together, but we like the CGI look of Ulysses and it really feels like he is a superhero squirrel from what we have seen. We love series where there is also a book that can be read and there can be much discussion on how the show and book may match up and differ. This always makes for great conversation and learning. We are already ready for our plush Ulysses toy!

The film is based on the Newbery Award-winning book about 10-year-old Flora, an avid comic book fan and a self-avowed cynic, whose parents have recently separated. After rescuing a squirrel she names Ulysses, Flora is amazed to discover he possesses unique superhero powers, which take them on an adventure of humorous complications that ultimately change Flora’s life–and her outlook–forever.
