Sydney To The Max production is rolling and it looks like we now have a date for the first episode. The series that has Ruth Righi in her first leading role as Sydney Reynolds will premiere on Friday, January 25th at 8:30 p.m. on the Disney Channel and DisneyNOW.

There is a ton of great talent on the show, and we couldn’t be happier to see Ian Reed Kesler from one of our favorites, Kickin’ It takes the role opposite of Ruth as Max Reynolds. We loved Ian as Sensei Ty in Kickin’ It and are stoked that he will return to Disney. His younger self will be played by Jackson Dollinger who has done some work on Puppy Dog Pals. Rounding out the cast will be Ava Kolker who plays Olive and Caroline Rhea who we remember fondly from Sabrina The Teenage Witch will play Judy.

The upcoming father/daughter sitcom #SydneytotheMax – which is set in the present day with flashbacks to the 1990s – features @thatruthrighi in her first leading TV role. She had previously starred in #SchoolofRock on Broadway. Series premieres Friday, January 25 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on #DisneyChannel and #DisneyNOW.

The show is a comedy that has single dad Max and Sydney doing the same sort of things while they were growing up. So we get flashbacks to young Max and his from the 1990s doing similar things to Sydney and her best friend Olive. Even though they are set decades apart, there is a familiarity to both of them growing up that gives them a bit more in common than they thought. This sounds like it is going to be a huge hit as both parents and children will have a great time watching it. This is something that Disney has started to get into more and more, the family viewing experience and we think Sydney To The Max is going to hit that right on the head as we anxiously await the premiere in January.

Have three kids, two boys (18 and 16) and a girl (12). I had a grandfather that watched cartoons and read the Sunday funnies until he passed. I feel the same way and continue to watch the Disney channel in my 40s. Check out our BSCKids youtube channel Current favorite show is Amphibia.
