Fancy Nancy – Meet Nancy
We finally get to meet Nancy as the countdown to Fancy Nancy has officially started with the show airing on July 13th on Disney Junior and in the DisneyNOW app. The show is based on the New York Times bestselling book series featuring 6 year old Nancy who is super fancy. Nancy is being voiced by Mia Sinclair Jenness with Alyson Hannigan as Claire Clancy, Rob Riggle as Doug Clancy and Spencer Moss as JoJo Clancy. The recurring roles will feature Christine Baranski as Mrs. Devine, George Wendt as Grandpa Clancy, Tatyana Ali as Mrs. James, Chi McBride as Gus, Kal Penn as Mr. Singh and our favorite Madison Pettis as Brigitte.
Watch the introduction to Nancy below:
We love that some of our daughters favorite books are being turned into Disney Junior shows and even though the show is geared two kids between 2-7 years old we are sure she will enjoy the show even at 8. Each episode will have two 11-minute stories that feature Nancy and her friends and family exploring her adventures. There will be many ways music will play a role in the show as well as showing a love for languages.
We love that the show really does a great job at paying attention to colors as well as elaborate backgrounds. It very much reminds us of the book series and we really are happy about that. Fancy Nancy really uses her imagination and the animators as going to take full advantage of that.
Dana Heath will play Nancy’s best friend Bree and they will have all sorts of fun together. The series is executive produced as well as directed by Jamie Mitchell (Disney Junior’s “Sofia the First”) and developed and story edited by Krista Tucker (Disney Junior’s “Sheriff Callie’s Wild West”). These are both talented people that have already produced some great shows so we are really looking forward to how they handle Fancy Nancy.
Matthew Tishler serves as songwriter and music producer, and TJ Hill is composer.
