Big City Greens trailer keeps popping up on the Disney Channel so we figured it was time to give our take on what we think about the new show based on the limited information we have at this point.
For the animation style it looks to be well done with nice coloring and a lot of background complexity. It feels a bit like the Gravity Falls style just a little “lighter” due to the nature of the show.
The story is a great one, and we just love that their Gramma Alice’s house is smack in the middle of the city but it looks like something that should be out in the country. This is a story that a lot of children go through, moving from the country or even the suburbs to the big city so it should resonate well with everyone. There is a also a lot of humor to be had by the differences from country and city life.
For the characters we already love Gramma Alice and his older sister Tilly will be a great companion for Cricket Green to adventure with. For the adults, Bill, the father of the kids will have his own adjustments to make and this is why we think the whole family will be able to enjoy this show. It also looks like from the trailer that Cricket and Tilly will have some friends as well to adventure with.
“Big City Greens” follows the offbeat adventures of 10-year-old Cricket Green, whose natural curiosity and enthusiasm lead him and his family – older sister Tilly, father Bill and Gramma Alice – on epic journeys and into the hearts of his new neighbors.
You can watch the trailer below and let us know what you think about the show over on social media. They look to have a great voice cast for the show and we are just in love with the animation style. Make sure to tune in on June 18th to check it out.
The voice cast is Chris Houghton as Cricket Green, Artemis Pebdani (ABC’s “Scandal”) as sweet Gramma Alice, Marieve Herington (“How I Met Your Mother”) as quirky older sister Tilly Green and Bob Joles (“Puss in Boots”) as hard-working father Bill Green.
For now we consider Big City Greens to be a hit in the making, even if they don’t have noses.
