Summer Penguin Muppet Babies – New Muppet

In the 80s and early 90s, Muppet Babies was one of the best shows on television and as Disney makes a version to release in March we knew it would come with at least one new character. We finally have a picture of this new Muppet Babies named Baby Summer aka Summer Penguin. She is a bright looking penguin that should fit in with the gang immediately and bring a new look to the series. What will be interesting is how she fits in with Miss Piggy and does that mean that we will lose one of the original main characters to make room for her?

MUPPET BABIES – New Muppet, Summer Penguin, is a creative and artistic penguin who loves to paint, draw, sing and dance. “Muppet Babies” premieres this March.

Our younger selves were saddened when Nanny and the Muppet Babies ended their wonderful run, but we are hoping to see a show that is very similar and just as fun. Let us not forget all the wonderful live-action clips that were inserted into the show now that Disney owns a lot more of those franchises directly. It also brings back the fun use of imagination which is often lacking with this new generation.

The original series starred Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal, Scooter, Skeeter, Rowlf the Dog, and Gonzo as the babies Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, Beaker, Camilla (Gonzo’s stuffed baby chick) made regular appearances as well as Bean Bunny and Statler and Waldorf began making appearances in the later seasons.
