DuckTales has a new video up and it is called “DuckTale Call” and goes in a totally different direction with is an old school hip hop beat and lyrics. There was a rumor that this was the original theme song for the new DuckTales and now we have some interesting information to go along with that theory below.
Based on the Emmy Award-winning series treasured by a generation of viewers, Disney XD’s animated comedy-adventure series “DuckTales” chronicles the high-flying adventures of Duckburg’s most famous trillionaire Scrooge McDuck, his mischief-making triplet grandnephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie, temperamental nephew Donald Duck and the trusted McDuck Manor team: big-hearted, fearless chauffer/pilot Launchpad McQuack, no-nonsense housekeeper Mrs. Beakley and Mrs. Beakley’s granddaughter, Webby.

That seems pretty interesting as the official Disney XD channel is saying they are glad this wasn’t the new theme song. Does that mean that they got bad feedback when they went to use this, or are they just having fun with the fact that this is what the comments section turned into (saying thank goodness this wasn’t the DuckTales theme song) after they posted the video? Even being a fan of old school hip hop, this song just would not have done it for the new series, there is a mix of old and new and that is why the current (or previous) theme song works so well for the show.
