Good news for “Supergirl” fans! It has been officially confirmed that Tyler Hoechlin will return to the series for he season 2 finale, reprising his role of Superman. You can check out some photos from the episode below which airs May 22 on the CW!
Currently, “Supergirl” is still on hiatus but will return April 24 with an all-new episode titled “Ace Reporter.” Armen V. Kevorkian directed the episode, which was written by Paula Yoo & Caitlin Parrish.
“Lena’s (guest star Katie McGarth) ex-boyfriend, Jack Spheer (guest star Rahul Kohli), comes to National City to unveil his big breakthrough in nano-technology, which has the potential to eradicate all diseases. Lena asks Kara to attend Jack’s conference with her for support. When Kara sees Snapper (guest Star Ian Gomez) in attendance she’s inspired to tap back into her reporter skills and questions Jack on his discovery, which ultimately leads to a bigger investigation that puts everyone in danger.”
The news that Hoechlin is returning comes shortly after it was announced previously that Manu Bennett and Katrina Law would be returning to “Arrow” for the upcoming season 5 finale reprising their overlapping roles in the DC television universe as well.
Melissa Benoist stars as the titular Supergirl alongside Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Laura Benanti as Alura Zor-El, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Chyler Leigh as Alexandra “Alex” Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winslow “Winn” Schott, Jenna Dewan Tatum as Lucy Lane (sister of Lois), David Harewood as Hank Henshaw, Peter Facinelli as Maxwell Lord, with Dean Cain and Helen Slater. In season 2, we see Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor, Floriana Lima as Maggie Sawyer, and Lynda Carter (star of the original “Wonder Woman” series) as the President of the United States.
The season 2 finale of “Supergirl” is set to air on May 22 on The CW.
