Black History Month, Disney Junior

Black History Month, Disney Junior

In celebration of Black History Month there will be some new interstitials being featured on all of the Disney stations, but for Disney Junior we have one that features Doc McStuffins and friends. We know that Doc and friends will be introduced to three pioneers and one of those pioneers is Stephanie R. Grant. Stephanie R. Grant is an airline pilot who was part of the first all-female African-American flight crew to fly a commercial airliner.

DISNEY CHANNEL – In celebration of Black History Month, Disney Junior will debut new interstitials featuring Doc McStuffins, the title character from the acclaimed animated series, as she introduces three pioneers in their respective fields including Stephanie R. Grant, an airline pilot who made history in 2009 when she and three other women became the first all-female African-American flight crew to operate a commercial airliner. (Disney Channel)
DOC MCSTUFFINS, STEPHANIE R. GRANT

Doc McStuffins is such a great show for everyone to learn about some very important pioneers and teach the younger generation about history.

Disney Channel and Disney XD has also put together a special interstitial called “True Heroes are Timeless” which stars Nathaniel Potvin from MECH-X4 at the Tomorrow’s Aeronautical Museum. The first viewing of the interstitial was a few days ago but it will be replayed.  The Tomorrow’s Aeronautical Museum is “… a living classroom in South Los Angeles bringing aviation history to life and empowering the dreams of youth to take flight.” The Museum looks pretty awesome and seems like Nathaniel is having a great time while at the same time learning.

DISNEY CHANNEL – “Be Inspired” interstitial “True Heroes are Timeless” – Disney XD star Nathaniel Potvin (“MECH-X4”) at Tomorrow’s Aeronautical Museum. The “True Heroes are Timeless” segment begins airing WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 1, on Disney Channel and Disney XD. (Disney Channel)

You can see both of these interstitials all month on the combined Disney stations.

Have three kids, two boys (18 and 16) and a girl (12). I had a grandfather that watched cartoons and read the Sunday funnies until he passed. I feel the same way and continue to watch the Disney channel in my 40s. Check out our BSCKids youtube channel Current favorite show is Amphibia.
