Ever since the spin-off series of the beloved 90s series Boy Meets World was announced. Both the fans of the now classic series and the Internet went crazy. And that said hype quickly made Girl Meets World’s premier momentum and the series to follow on that path.

And we here at BSCKids have talked countless time about the series. Rightful so as the series captures the struggles of growing-up, finding your place in the world and pure passion.

The series that chronicled Riley Mathews, the daughter of Boy Meets World’s Cory and Topanga Mathews.  Along with her friends Maya, Lucas and Farkle, the four friends faced life and middle school- and later high school- together. With three seasons totaling seventy-two episodes, we have gotten to see this group of friends take on the world.

But much like all else, all good things have to someday end.

And sadly Disney’s hit series is marking its end with the final episode of season three doubling as the series’ final.

For a few months now rumors have been swirling around the Internet that the current third season of the series would also be the last. Coupled with dropping ratings the rumor had some more weight to it.

But rumors are to always be taken as such until official world is released. Yet there was no denying the fact there was such a lengthy wait for a season four announcement made things seem bleak.

But now from the tweets of the official twitter account Girl Meets Writers @GMWWriters. We now have full confirmation of the series’ future.

“It is with incredible pride in our work and complete sadness that things end, that I report to this wonderful audience that our show is over,” the accounted tweeted. “I just officially got the call, and would like to thank this audience for its incredible love and loyalty. Please watch our January episodes. We leave you with three incredible souvenirs of a show we couldn’t be more proud of. As I look back I can tell you with absolute certainty — we gave you our best.”

Following the tweets posted on January 4th, 2017, Maya portrayed by Sabrina Carpenter tweeted out her own message that couldn’t have been better put.

There is no end. There is no beginning. There is only the infinite passion of life. – Fellini #GirlMeetsWorld pic.twitter.com/TWGAMgEQhS

— Sabrina Carpenter (@SabrinaAnnLynn) January 5, 2017

Though Carpenter’s worlds do ring true. Fans of the series have taken to social media with their displeasure of the series’ ending. Fans call for Disney Channel to reconsider. Or perhaps consider allowing sister station Freeform to take the series rights, or in the same vein of many series, find a new home on Netflix.

Disney has yet to comment further on the choice to end Girl Meets World.

As a fan of the series I do feel upset by the choice to end such a passionate and grounded series. One of the many reasons I loved the series was just how real things where. How real Riley’s life was and the issues she faced. It was so easy to relate to the daily struggles that life throws at us.

But Girl Meets World has taught its fans how to take on the world, a message that will live on even after the series ends.

Be sure to support the series until the end and watch the final episodes on Disney.
