The upcoming episode of “Star Wars Rebels” reveals a new and dangerous weapon: the Darksaber. Powerful or just dangerous? The Darksaber is going to be used by Sabine Wren to help the cause of the rebels. The weapon is a lightsaber with a black blade that was created by Tar Vizsla who was the first Mandalorian in the Jedi Order and was kept in the Jedi Temple for a while.

It seems the Darksaber has made its way around the galaxy and different people but now it is back in the hands of Sabine. What makes this new weapon different is that the Darksaber looks a lot more like a regular sword than a lightsaber. But it is definitely a lightsaber and a two handed one at that.

STAR WARS REBELS – “Trials of the Darksaber” – To help recruit her people to join the rebels, Sabine reluctantly agrees to learn to wield an ancient Mandalorian weapon but finds the challenge more difficult than expected. This episode of “Star Wars Rebels” airs Saturday, January 21 (8:30 – 9:00 P.M. EST) on Disney XD. (Lucasfilm)

Star Wars Rebels – “Trials of the Darksaber” will premiere on Disney XD on Saturday January 21st at 8:30 P.M. EST so make sure to tune in and see how powerful this ancient Mandalorian weapon really is. We did see this weapon in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series’ second season “The Mandalore Plot,” which premiered in 2010. It was wielded by Pre Vizsla at that time.

Have three kids, two boys (18 and 16) and a girl (12). I had a grandfather that watched cartoons and read the Sunday funnies until he passed. I feel the same way and continue to watch the Disney channel in my 40s. Check out our BSCKids youtube channel Current favorite show is Amphibia.
