American Girl Gabriela McBride Uses The Power Of Poetry

American Girl has official debuted the new 2017 Girl of the Year Gabriela McBride and you can read a bit below about her.

American Girl is ringing in the New Year with the debut of Gabriela McBride™, the company’s new 2017 Girl of the Year™! Gabriela is a true creative talent who uses the power of poetry to help her break down barriers and overcome a personal challenge with stuttering. Gabriela comes to life for girls via a beautiful 18-inch Gabriela™ doll featuring curly dark-brown hair and warm brown eyes, an exclusive outfit that reflects her creative side, and a book chronicling her story.

What we find the most interesting about this new American Girl Doll is the fact that her story is going to be published by Scholastic and written by wonderful author Teresa E. Harris. We love the fact the best doll company has partnered with the world’s largest publisher of children’s books which allows both companies to do what they do best. Gabriela’s family has a love of all the arts, but spoken word poetry is what she has fallen in love with. This poetry helps give Gabriela confidence as she is a quiet girl from what we are being told.

Gabriela will come with a dance barre, dance outfits, pretend headphones and a microphone allowing her to really shine with her poetry.
