We finally have a glimpse into the world of the upcoming live action Beauty and the Beast thanks to a few posts on twitter from the set. We got a look at Luke Evans as Gaston, Josh Gad as Le Fou, and Dan Stevens as Beast but what was most interesting was the updated of Cogsworth and Lumiere!
Cogsworth and Lumiere are the candlestick and clock confidants of The Beast. The two were originally humans who were cursed to take form of the objects and this new look actually makes the curse look more painful and terrifying as opposed to jovial and fun. Check out the new look below:
The upcoming live action version of Beauty and the Beast is a Walt Disney Pictures production from director Bill Condon. It stars Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as Beast, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, Luke Evans as Gaston, Josh Gad as LeFou, Kevin Kline as Maurice (Belle’s father), Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette, the feather duster and Stanley Tucci as a grand piano named Cadenza.
Beauty and the Beast will hit theaters on March 17, 2017. The 25th Anniversary Blu-ray, meanwhile, will be available September 20.
