AUSTIN MAHONE ANNOUNCES 2013 HEADLINING TOUR IN PARTNERSHIP WITH MTV ARTIST TO WATCH – Austin Mahone has a chance to make a Bieber type run at the biggest teen fanbase and getting out and headlining a tour is a great start. Austin is going to starting off in the south with a Miami date in October and if you want to see one of these concerts you will need to be ready to buy tickets starting on August 2nd. New York, NY—Austin Mahone may only be 17 years old, but this teen pop sensation is already taking the music scene by storm and today he is excited to announce his first headlining tour, presented by MTV’s Artist to Watch and kicking off October 17th in Miami. Tickets go on sale, Friday August 2nd at 10am at www.axs.com.

“MTV has supported me from the very beginning, even before I had a label. They’ve been right there with me and I appreciate that alot,” said Austin Mahone. “I’m so excited to be headlining my first tour and I can’t think of a better partner than MTV.”

He has had a whirlwind of a year, with his newest single “What About Love,” sailing to the iTunes Top 5 within the first week of its debut and his single being named the Most Added at Top 40 across the country for four weeks in a row, including major markets and stations like Z100 in New York City and KIIS in Los Angeles. And now, Austin can say he is officially an MTV Video Music Award nominee, being nominated for his very first VMA in the Artist To Watch category. Most recently, Austin was a presenter at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards and opened the 2013 Radio Disney Music Awards with explosive performances of “Say You’re Just A Friend” and “Say Somethin.” That night, he also took home his first RDM award for “Ultimate Breakout Star – Biggest Viral Artist.” Currently, he is on tour with Taylor Swift’s RED Tour and readying the debut of his album.

MTV’s Artist to Watch is a new pro-artist and music discovery initiative and campaign across all of MTV’s television channels, websites and social networks. Austin Mahone and the tour opener, Becky G, have both been featured as MTV’S Artist to Watch. Midnight Red and W3 the Future will also be featured openers on the tour.

The forthcoming tour marks the latest in the relationship between Austin and MTV on television, online and social, including several appearances on MTV’s 10 on Top, an MTV twitter takeover which generated the #1 worldwide trending topic #AskAustin, as well as performances of “Say Somethin” on MTV Buzzworthy and “Jingle Bells” on Artists.MTV. In March, Austin performed a set at MTV’s Artist to Watch showcase in New York, and was the featured Artist to Watch across all MTV channels, websites and social channels in early May.
