The recently announced Xbox One doesn’t have much going for it (high price point, digital rights management issues, backwards incapability, can’t play used games, requires users to be online at all times) but it does have a nice list of highly anticipated game releases. Two of which are Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III. During this week’s E3 conference, The Xbox One confirmed they would be releasing the titles alongside the PlayStation 4, according to Square Enix.
Final Fantasy XV is the new title for Final Fantasy Versus XIII, which was originally announced as a PlayStation 3 exclusive back at E3 2006. Kingdom Hearts 3 is also the first mainline entry in its series since 2006. Square Enix also noted that Kingdom Hearts III is the first time a Kingdom Hearts will be released on a Microsoft platform.
What do you think of the releases? Which system would you prefer to play the titles on? Despite the console currently battling it out for the love of the consumer as well as their purchasing power, it is nice to see these popular titles being release on both. Hopefully the mistakes made on the last Final Fantasy game will not be made with this one while all the things done right with the Kingdom Hearts games will remain intact on the 3rd installment.
